News reports have it that the former military head of
state, Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida, is
incapacitated and has been hospitalised in
Germany.
The former dictator was in his hilltop mansion in
Minna, Niger State, until 10 days ago, when he was
reportedly bundled to Germany, after falling ill.
Babangida is reportedly suffering from a chronic
back ailment.
It is also believed that he had undergone a previous
surgery for the same problem, a while back, in
Germany.
Meanwhile, speculations are rife that as President
Jonathan’s travels for the ‘United Nations General
Assembly, he would make a detour to pay a discreet
visit to the ailing retired General in Germany.
