Facebook's [ FB 73.59 +0.60 (+0.82%) ] Mark Zuckerberg
announced Tuesday that he and his wife, Priscilla Chan, are
donating $25 million to the Centers for Disease Control
Foundation to help fight Ebola.
Zuckerberg made the announcement in a Facebook post,
saying "we need to get Ebola under control in the near term so
that it doesn't spread further and become a long term global
health crisis that we end up fighting for decades at large
scale, like HIV or polio."
He said the $25 million grant will help empower the CDC and
experts in the field, and help front-line responders to set up
care centers, train staff and spot new cases.
"We are hopeful this will help save lives and get this outbreak
under control," he wrote.
